Earth Journalism Network Biodiversity Media Grants 2026 (Upto 12000 EUR)

Application Deadline: March 28, 2026.

Journalists and media organizations in low- and middle-income countries now have a chance to receive funding to strengthen environmental reporting, especially on biodiversity issues.

Internews’ Earth Journalism Network is offering grants of 10,000–12,000 euros to support three to four media projects that improve how biodiversity is covered in the media.

Why Biodiversity Reporting Matters
Biodiversity is crucial for healthy ecosystems, food security, and climate resilience.
Yet many regions lack in-depth media coverage that explains how local actions affect species and habitats.

These grants aim to empower journalists to tell impactful stories that can raise awareness, inspire action, and highlight innovative solutions in their communities.

About the Grant Program
The program helps journalists produce in-depth, locally relevant stories while providing guidance from experienced mentors.

Funding is designed to support projects that strengthen reporting skills, promote accurate storytelling, and make complex environmental issues understandable to a wide audience.

Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include media organizations, journalist networks, civil society organizations, and academic institutions.

Applicants must be based in countries classified as low- or middle-income by the World Bank.

Projects should focus on improving journalism quality rather than advocacy or political campaigns.

What the Grant Supports
The grants aim to enhance the quality and quantity of biodiversity reporting.

Successful applications clearly explain how funding will be used, how the project will strengthen reporting on biodiversity, and the potential impact of the stories.

Innovative approaches, such as collaborative reporting, multimedia storytelling, or skill-building for local journalists, are especially encouraged.

Take this opportunity to tell stories that make a difference, strengthen your reporting skills, and contribute to a better understanding of biodiversity in your region.
