The German Academic Excellence Service (DAAD) is seeking scholarship applications from qualified candidates from Sub-Saharan Africa to undertake various Master’s Degree programs.
The Scholarships target
individuals who are mostly interested in teaching and research.
The program will run
within scholars’ home countries or region for a period of two years.
This is to enable them
contribute meaningfully to research, education and economic development in
their respective countries.
These programs will specifically
be hosted by Universities in South Africa and Nigeria.
In Nigeria, applicants
will study Master of Science in Physics at Federal University of Agriculture
Abeokuta.
In South Africa, they
will enroll at University of Cape Town for Master of Philosophy in Urban
studies, as well as University of Pretoria, where they will undertake, Master
of Science in Mathematics.
Targeted
Applicants
To apply for the
programs, you should;
- Be a resident of a country in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Already hold an undergraduate degree
- Be willing to enroll for either teaching
or research programs
- Target a Master’s program that aligns
with sustainable development goals
What
you get
Applicants benefit from
full funding during their two year masters’ program.
This funding covers the
following;
- Annual tuition fees
- Annual study and research Allowances
- Publishing of thesis, paid once towards the
end of scholarship
- Annual health insurance.
- Travel allowances, paid twice, at the
beginning and end of program
- Monthly accommodation, among others.
The amount of funds offered
vary, depending on the program or applicant’s University of choice.
Tips
for successful application
- Select a program that is related to the
scholarship offer.
- Prepare and review application documents
before final submission.
- Submit applications early to avoid last
minute inconveniences.
- Submit fully a completed application form
to avoid disqualification.
